Tim Miles has been around this sport for a long time.  He is the owner of Coyote Springs Sporting Clays in Tucson Arizona and has traveled the US building gun clubs and setting targets.  In this episode, we talk about how he got started in the business, the difference in shooting in the western US vs the easthern US, the 2023 US Open and the upcoming Southeast regional at Cross Creek Clays.

Thaddius Bedford is one of the guys who brings the sport to life through photo and video.  He has traveled around the world to over 50 countries capturing a lot of what you see online and in print advertising.  His work outside of clay target sports has been showcased on some of the largest networks we all watch today.  He also has an idea for a way to bring clay target shooting back to tv.  He talks about how to make it interesting, profitable and fun not just for the pro shooters but for everyone.

John Woolley's shooting career has been long and distinguished. It has moved him to become one of the world's top wingshooters and sporting clays instructors. Many of today's winning international shooters have been John's students.

John started his teaching career in England, at his well known shooting school, Fieldsports. The top European sporting clays magazine, "Sporting Gun," publicized John's articles because of his extensive knowledge and experience. John's shooting career has included winning the World Professional Doubles Championship in 1987 and the Beretta World Sporting Clays Championship in 1990. He has represented Great Britain many times on their four man National Team and twelve gold medals and one silver remain in his collection.

John has been an ambassador to wingshooting in the United States and is proud to have been asked to serve as Captain of both the US Veterans Sporting Clays team as well as the Veterans FITASC team. In addition, in 2015, John was inducted into the National Sporting Clays Association's Hall of Fame. 

John has also become a desired target setter. FITASC, with 55 countries included in its membership, has selected John to design many of their championship courses.

The FITASC organization has also entrusted John with heading and teaching the world's first international course design program. This program certifies successful candidates as having the necessary qualities to design courses for international sporting clays championships.

Ashley Little is now the 2022 World FITASC Ladies Champion.  After a long road of switching from a right handed shooter to left handed and basically coming back up through the ranks, she has reached her ultimate goal.  Her resume is as follows:

I spoke briefly with Geoff Pare, owner of Gamaliel Shooting Supply and Dave Dalton, Owner of Cherokee Rose about the Gamaliel Cup coming to Georgia.  Find out what to expect when this 19 year old big blast makes it big move into Griffin Georgia to one of the Southeast's finest gun glubs on April 27-30, 2023.

Marty Fischer grew up in southeast Georgia near Savannah and is a 1974 graduate of Georgia Southern College with a BS Degree in Speech-Public Relations.  Marty got his start in the hunting and shooting industry when he served as the Vice President and General Manager of Cherokee Rose Shooting Resort in Griffin, Georgia from April 1990 through December 1992. 

In January 1993 Marty founded SportShooting Consultants, Ltd, a company that specializes in gun club design, event target setting and management as well as business consulting for the hunting and clay target industries.  To date Fischer has designed and/or set competition targets on more than 175 sporting courses throughout North America.

He has done design work for the likes of the Ted Turner family (Kinloch Plantation on the Santee River in SC), Henry Kravis, (7 Lakes Lodge in Meeker, CO, now owned by golfer Greg Norman) managing partner of Kohlberg, Kravis and Roberts in New York, Los Angeles Dodgers owner Mark Walters, noted hotelier Richard Kessler and his Kessler Canyon Ranch in DeBeque, CO.  He recently did an initial private design and clay target installation for Gaylon Lawrence, Jr. in Wilson, Arkansas.  Additional public facility phases are being planned and priced at this time.    

Recent courses of note include a redesign of the Brays Island Sporting Clays course in South Carolina and two 15 station championship layouts for the Clark County Shooting Park in Las Vegas, Nevada; sporting clays, 5-Stand, shooting school venues for The Orvis Shooting Grounds at Pursell Farms in Alabama; two 14 station layouts for the Garland Mountain Sporting Clays facility in north metro Atlanta, GA and a 5-Stand, Wobble Trap, 10 station corporate courses at The Kiawah Sporting Club in SC and at historic Millpond Plantation in Thomasville, GA as well as two 15 station sporting clays courses for Dead Zero Shooting Park in Spencer, TN.   He recently finished a project called The Clays at Lone Oaks Farm, a $2.3 million clay target project for the University of Tennessee.  His next full-service design for completion is a sporting clays facility in Weirton, WV.  At any given time, he has three to five different design jobs underway. 

Fischer became one of the first National Sporting Clays Association (NSCA) Level III Shooting Instructors.  This level of coaching expertise represents the highest instructor level awarded by the NSCA.  Marty is also the Head Coach of the Georgia Southern University Clay Target Team, which competes for Regional and National Collegiate Clay Target Championships.  Under his guidance, Georgia Southern won back-to-back ACUI divisional national championships in 2021 and 2022.
